LOVE THIS!

It started with the bathroom around the corner from "Endor Vendors" at the Disney MGM Studios Theme Park back in the early 90's. There above the toilet seat cover dispenser was a big upside-down pink triangle ­a whole row of them. Now, as you may know, upside-down pink triangles are a popular symbol of gay pride, a little sign saying "gay spoken here."

So I thought, that seems a little odd, all these upside-down pink triangles here in the men's room. I guess the interior designer thought it would be a little inside joke. I mean, one could just as easily made the yellow triangles upside-down and reversed it, removing any subversive reference. But then I saw it again and again, pink triangles that didn't seem to be there by chance.

I had to get these on film. It became a scavenger hunt at every Disney theme park. Now please remain seated as we begin our triangle travelogue.

i haven't forgotten about my darling little blog. its been INSANE with all the moving shit. that's my excuse.

friday was my last day at abt/2nd job. THANK YOU SWEET JESUS. oh the things i could say. about abt. about management of abt. about my boss. about how that place destroyed a part of my soul. but its not worth the effort it would take. i am just SO glad its done. i did the best i could, especially since i didn't agree with 95% of the things i did.

upside; i met some amazing people. i had to get past all the shit heads first, but given different circumstances i bet i could have been good friends with many of them.

TODAY was my last day at full circle/full time job. there aren't words to describe how free i feel. the work i did at the adoption agency was amazing. i helped people in a way i didn't know i was capable of. but i will NEVER, EVER, EVER regret my decision to leave them. FUCK YOU MARLA. FUCK THAT BULLSHIT. i'm so glad its over. SOOO GLAD.

i also met some amazing people there and i sincerely hope they get out of there asap. the agency is on its way out (mark my words).... i give it a couple more years tops.

enough of that. sheesh!

now the easy part...yeah...really. move. find a real job. don't hate my new job. make a ton of money and live it up. that's the plan. ANY AND EVERYONE is invited to come visit!

i'll be offline for a few days. internet is gone tomorrow and it will be about a week until i'm settled in nyc.

President Bush stopped by Opryland last week, and apparently one of the record labels with an office down in Nashville sent a hapless intern to the presidential press conference in hopes that an industry-friendly quote could be coaxed out of the Commander in Chief. Of course, the president being the president, he played dumb when asked about whether or not artists should be paid royalties for radio play:

QUESTION: "Mr. President, music is one of our largest exports the country has. Currently, every country in the world -- except China, Iran, North Korea, Rwanda and the United States -- pay a statutory royalty to the performing artists for radio and television air play. Would your administration consider changing our laws to align it with the rest of the world?

THE PRESIDENT: Help. (Laughter.) Maybe you've never had a President say this -- I have, like, no earthly idea what you're talking about. (Laughter and applause.) Sounds like we're keeping interesting company, you know? (Laughter.)

Rubber Ducks End 15-Year Odyssey

"Hundreds of rubber ducks are expected to appear off the coast of Cornwall - having been afloat at sea for the past 15 years.

The wayward bath toys have covered 17,000 miles since they accidentally fell overboard in the Pacific Ocean during a storm in January, 1992.

They were among a consignment of 28,800 plastic ducks, beavers, turtles and frogs that were being taken from Hong Kong to Washington State in the US.

Seattle oceanographer Curtis Ebbesmeyer has been monitoring the toys as a means of mapping ocean currents.

He is interested to see where they come ashore, with some of the toys apparently having reached the east coast of America.

The Daily Express quoted him as saying: "It's now inevitable that they will get caught up in the Atlantic currents and will turn up on English beaches.

If a toy is returned to the manufacturer the finder can claim a £50 reward.

But the ducks are far more valuable if they are sold privately as curiosity items - fetching up to £1,000.

The plastic animals have already reached places as diverse as Indonesia, Australia and South America.

But Alaska has proved a popular washing up point for the washtime toys.

Between 1993 and 2005 Alaska residents Dean Orbison and his son Tyler collected 121 plastic animals as they came ashore near the city of Sitka."

that it would be SOO great?! i was hoping it would, i knew i'd like it after i heard the single, but this is just too much! i ADORE it. i've been trying to figure out how to best put that into words...but the tom breihan village voice article says it all.
