and in related news....

A Florida family was shocked on Christmas day when the Bratz doll Santa had brought for a little girl had some very un-merry things to say. According to the father, the doll had some choice words for his daughter — more precisely, the f-word and the b-word.

The doll sings a song, and when the daughter, six-year-old Kristina Arse, heard exactly what the song was, she brought it to her father’s attention. “I actually heard at the end some bad words, and I was freaking out,” said father Luis. “I was very upset about it.”

What is up with these bratz dolls? fucking strange.

Merry Christmas....

A young China Grove girl unwrapped a Bratz doll on Christmas morning and found a surprise Santa certainly didn’t plant.

Inside the box, under the doll’s head, were three pounds of marijuana. Rowan County detectives say the drugs landed at the wrong house.

According to investigators, the girl’s mother bought the doll from an auction on eBay. When it was delivered to her apartment, it looked just like it had come straight from the manufacturing plant, so she wrapped it and put it under the tree.

The mother called 911 on Christmas Day when she realized what was in the box. Capt. John Sifford of the Rowan County Sheriff’s Department said hiding the drugs in merchandise is just another way to move them. “Drugs are sent through the mail, various services,” he said. “Apparently this mail was meant for someone else.”

Authorities said the marijuana is worth more than $7,000 on the street.

cats!

not the musical ::shudder::, but a new kind of cat has been "engineered"

the new york times called them the "holy grail of the pet industry"

what are they talking about? why hypoallergenic cats of course.

now people like me who have horrific cat allergies can put our names on a 2 year waiting list, undergo an extreme testing period (likened to one parents have to go through to adopt a CHILD), and then pay a mere $4,000 to receive one of these "lifestyle pets".

“You’re not just buying a cat; it’s a medical device that replaces shots and pills,” said Megan Young, chief executive of Allerca. “At the same time, this is a living animal, so the well-being of our product comes before our customers. This is not some high-priced handbag that you put back on the shelf if it doesn’t match.”

"For the past few months, Allerca’s small pool of hypoallergenic cats have been busy reproducing. Their breeding facility cannot be visited and “is at a secret undisclosed location,” said Ms. Young, Allerca’s chief executive.

At 10 to 12 weeks, every Allerca kitten is neutered before it is delivered. The company insists this is mainly to prevent feline overpopulation. But every Allerca cat carries the dominant hypoallergenic gene and, in theory, could produce copycat hypoallergenic kittens."

oh wow, this is just great. sign me up. this is clearly the only solution for people with cat allergies....oh. wait a minute...i mean, i guess people who are allergic to cats COULD JUST NOT GET A CAT instead of ordering a geneticly altered one.... hehe.

shows

in the last few weeks i've seen a few shows and i just haven't gotten around to reviewing yet.

THE STROKES

the strokes played the bank of america pavilion on september 12th.

wolfmother opened. i *really* enjoyed them live. i love their album and their live set is solid. they are not a band i can listen to everyday, but their energy and commitment is infectious. the joker & the thief is a great song. find it and listen.
thanks lads.

the strokes.
i have to say that if this was the only time i'd seen the strokes live i would have been slightly disappointed. poor julian seemed to be quite ill...his voice kept going out on him. he tried to make up for it with fun banter with the crowd, but the other boys weren't having it. however, he still sang the whole set and got through it with minimal fuck ups.

not quite as good as the show i saw a few months ago...i would say it is time of the boys to have some serious r&r...they seem a bit burnt out. but overall an enjoyable evening.

on a side note, the venue served coffee....this is the best idea EVER.

a chilly september evening of rock and roll accompanied by hot coffee. genius.

a bad review of the show, but pictures.

political statement snuck into disney world....

A mannequin depicting a prisoner (described as a Guantanamo Bay victim) was reportedly snuck into one of the dioramas alongside of Disneyland's Big Thunder Mountain last week. it was up for an hour and a half before security caught on.

see more pictures and read more at the wooster collective.

Glow in the Dark Bubble Bath – why not enjoy it with someone you've taken a shine too...

how can you beat glow in the dark bubble bath?!?

"You sink into a warm bath, the scent of vanilla and honey wafts through the air, pleasuring your senses – you sip your glass of champagne and bask in the soft glow of the candles. Hang on a minute...you didn't light any candles!

Who needs candles? You've got Glow in the Dark Bubble Bath. So much fun you'll want to share it with more than just your rubber ducky.

Glow in the Dark Bubble Bath radiates a soothing soft glow. It's not quite bright enough to read – but hey, if all you're interested in is the Da Vinci Code – perhaps you'd better save it for a more appropriate night.

Ten minutes before you run your bath, just place your bottle in front of a bright light to charge the pigments. Before you know it, you'll be in a lather of luminosity.

Glow in the Dark Bubble Bath with its vanilla and honey scent is yummy for one, delicious for two – and when it comes to Valentine's Day, Hen's Nights, Halloween, Birthdays or even Christmas, nothing holds a candle to this glimmering gift.

There's no unsightly ring around the bath – but you might find a rather otherworldly glow that'll freak out your flatmates!

A single bottle will get you up to four baths, the twin pack will double your fun and the party pack, well now, that'll really get the party glowing with four bottles of radiance ready to rage!

Glow in the Dark Bubble Bath – why not enjoy it with someone you've taken a shine too...rub-a-dub-dub, get yourself in my tub! "

best product description ever!

and its *only* $15 a bottle. order here.
(it would make a great bday gift for someone whose birthday is quickly approaching ;)
but not really....i was only joking. )

mongooses...not mongeese, right?

is it wrong that i kinda, sorta wanted to see snakes on a plane?

only a little.

anyway, i was reading overhead in new york and had to share one quote.

I Have Had It With These Motherfucking Mongooses Foiling My Motherfucking Terrorist Plots

Airport security guard #1: Hey, I gotta get me a mongoose.
Airport security guard #2: Yeah, man. Gotta keep them cobras off them planes.

--JFK

from SECURITY GUARDS!!

maybe i've had too much coffee or something today, but i think that's hysterical.
