spoon, roseland ballroom, oct 20, 2007

no "sister jack" or "fitted shirt" but otherwise this was a PERFECT show. (okay the venue was WAY over-crowded and julia and i both almost freaked out trying to leave....but OTHERWISE, perfect!).

talk about a good looking band. all of them. just too much for me. and horns! a splendid set. great mix of old and new.

and britt daniel. well. what can i say. this man is adorable. does he get in front of a mirror before he comes out on stage and purposefully mess up his hair and make it asymmetrical? does he practice in front of this mirror to perfect his adorable facial expressions? and how does he know exactly when to turn his profile to the audience to make himself that much sexier?

in conclusion.
spoon. wonderful band. even better live show.
i am a fan for life.

karl rove

well, this is a bit old. but i couldn't resist posting about it.

from a usnews article entitled 10 things you didn't know about karl rove

my two favorites:

"8. When Bush was elected president in 2000, Rove became the new president's top adviser. He was given the office once occupied by Hillary Clinton. According to a book published in 2006, Rove invited three priests to perform an exorcism to drive away the spirits of Hillary Clinton. Rove denies it.

9. President Bush is known to give people nicknames. Among Karl Rove's nicknames are "Boy Genius" and "Turd Blossom," which is a flower that grows in cow dung. Critics of Rove have nicknamed him "Evil Genius" and "Bush's Brain."

HAHAHA :)

Yeah Owen!

"Owen Wilson made a surprise appearance at Thursday night’s Los Angeles premiere of Fox Searchlight’s “The Darjeeling Limited,” the first public appearance since a reported suicide attempt in August.

Wilson was introduced by “Darjeeling” director and longtime friend Wes Anderson. “He’s my best friend,” Anderson told the audience at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science. “I’ve never made a movie without him and I hope to never have to.”

Wilson, wearing a sports coat and sporting a beard, took to the stage in an eruption of applause joining his co-stars, Adrien Brody, Jason Schwartzman, Anjelica Huston and Waris Ahluwalia. Also on the stage was Natalie Portman, who appears in Anderson’s short film, “Hotel Chevalier,” a prologue to “Darjeeling.” Wilson showed he still has his sense of humor when he smiled and mouthed “nice suit” to Brody, who was wearing a shiny silver ensemble."

yeah owen, i hope you continue to feel better!

and how adorable is this picture of wes, adrien and jason!
